October New Birder Walk
Saturday, October 10 @ 9AM Location: Forest Hill Park, 2050 Lee Blvd, Cleveland, OH 44112 Meeting place: Parking lot off Lee Rd/Blvd, opposite Brewster Road in East Cleveland Leader(s): Dana & Linda Join experienced birders Dana and Linda at Forest Hill Park for a new birder walk! We’ll meet at 9AM to learn some birding basics. This walk is designed for new birders so they can get started identifying birds by focusing on field marks, size, shape, and location. Our focus will be on beginning bird identification, not listing. Also, we’re going old school, so we may discuss birding apps, but won’t be using them. If you don't have binoculars, don't worry! Cleveland Lakefront Nature Preserve
Saturday, October 17 @ 8:30AM Address: 8701 Lakeshore Blvd, Cleveland, OH 44108 Meeting place: North end of the parking lot Cleveland Lakefront Nature Preserve is one of the best places in Northeast Ohio to go birding! Nearly 300 bird species have been recorded on this 88-acre preserve, and October is particularly noteworthy for autumn sparrows. As we wind through the preserve, we'll also look for lingering nesting species and fall migrants, including warblers, vireos, and thrushes.

Rocky River Park & West Side Lakefront
Saturday, November 14 @ 8:30AM Address: 20250 Beach Cliff Blvd, Rocky River, OH 44116 Meeting place: Observation deck at Rocky River Park From Rocky River Park's observation deck atop a 50-foot bluff, we'll scan Lake Erie from the mouth of the Rocky River to Bradstreet's Landing. Our next stop is Bradstreet's Landing, where we will bird from the 600-foot handicap-accessible fishing pier. If time permits, we may also stop at Cahoon Memorial Park West and Huntington Reservation. Spotting scopes are helpful.
