SATURDAY, OCTOBER 2, 2004 - 8 a.m. to 12 NOON *
BIRD WALKS & IBA CEREMONY at DIKE 14
sponsored by the DIKE 14 EEC**
Everyone is welcome. No pre-registration.
Assemble at gate to Dike 14, just east of boat ramps at Gordon
State Park. Children must be accompanied by an adult on bird
walks. "Release waivers" must be signed prior to start time of
walks. Please arrive at 8:00 AM to be ready for first walk.
Rain or shine.
Bird Walk: 8:30 a.m. start time
IBA Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. - Dedication of Dike 14 as an
Audubon Important Bird Area (Dike 14-Doan Brook IBA)
Refreshments: Lite refreshments following the ceremony
Bird Walk: 10:30 a.m. or following the ceremony and
refreshments
* Volunteers are needed to help with sign-in process and

** The Dike 14 EEC (Environmental Education Collaborative)
includes the leadership of Earth Day Coalition, Cleveland
Metroparks, Cuyahoga Valley National Park Association, The
Nature Center at Shaker Lakes, Lake Erie Nature and Science
Center, Audubon Ohio, and The Cleveland Museum of Natural
History. The goal of this unique collaborative is "to provide
exemplary multi-interdisciplinary environmental education for
students, teachers and families, and to promote environmental
stewardship of Dike 14." The Dike 14 EEC began monthly meetings
in November 2002.
