Black Swamp
Bird Observatory
Ottawa
National Wildlife Refuge and
Magee Marsh
Wildlife Area Guided Bird Walks
Black Swamp Bird
Observatory (BSBO) will offer guided bird walks every Friday and
Saturday morning beginning September 10th and concluding October
15th.
Walks will begin at 9:00 a.m. and wrap up around 11:00. (That's
11:00 AM for all those who, like me, would actually stay out
birding until 11:00 p.m.
These walks are free
to BSBO members and nonmembers alike.
Friday's walks will feature the birds of Ottawa National
Wildlife Refuge. Meet in the refuge parking lot at 9:00 am.
Saturdays we will visit the world famous boardwalk of the Magee
Marsh Wildlife Area. Meet at the West end of the boardwalk at
9:00 a.m.
BSBO naturalist, Paul Sherwood will be your guide for these
walks. Paul's knowledge of the birds in and around the Lake Erie
Marsh Region is sure to add to the experience. You'll recognize
Paul, he'll be the guy wearing the super-cool BSBO vest!
For more information about these and other fun and exciting
events, please call the BSBO office at (419) 898-4070 or check
us out online at
