Hearings on Re-Zoning request to
High density near Sheldon Marsh
As
you may recall, FAS recently sent an alert
concerning another hearing concerning a request for
a zoning change which would allow high density
housing to be built near Sheldon Marsh. It asked
that you address your comments to John Zimmerman
at:

We have received some additional email
addresses of the Huron Township Trustees and the
clerk (last name on list) and request you also make
your feelings known to them.

rezoning request.
Hearings on Re-Zoning request to High density
near Sheldon Marsh
The
third meeting and Public Hearing concerning the
request for
re-zoning of a 28.45-acre parcel located west of
Sheldon Marsh State Nature Preserve from R-1 (Rural
Residential) to R-3 (Residential, Multi-family) will
be held Thursday September 1, 2005. The first Erie
County Regional Planning meeting held July 28,2005
recommended unanimously to deny this re-zoning
request. Comments and letters were presented again
at the Huron Township zoning Public Hearing August
3,2005 and again a denial was recommended. We hope
the final decision of the Huron Township Trustees
will deny this request and continue to
preserve the valuable green areas in the long
established land use plan for Huron Township
adjacent to Sheldon Marsh.
The Huron Township Trustees will hold a Public
Hearing on Thursday, September 1, 2005, at 6:30 PM.,
at the Township Offices, 1820 Bogart Road, Huron,
Ohio 44839
The purpose of the Hearing will be to consider a
re-zoning request submitted by James Murray, on
behalf of S.A. Knowles, for a 28.45 acre parcel
located in the 2800 block of Cleveland Road West
(north side).
The
current zoning of the portion of the parcel being
requested to be re-zoned is R-1 (Rural Residential)
and the requested zone is R-3 (Residential,
Multi-family).
All interested parties are invited to attend and
give comments.
All associated information and copies of the
amendments are on file in the Office of the Township
Building Official, 1820 Bogart Rd, Huron Ohio and
may be examined by contacting 419 433-2755 during
regular business hours.
Friends of Sheldon Marsh encourage you to send your
comments to oppose this request for a zoning change
to high density housing next to Sheldon Marsh State
Nature Preserve. Regional Planning and the Huron
Township Zoning have recommended a denial to the
Huron Township Trustees who have the final decision.
