In November of 2004 Shaker Heights held a public meeting to present the Horseshoe Lake Master Plan and Map. Horseshoe Lake improvements were suggested for the historic area, which includes the beach and former wading pool, the play area, and the picnic area.

It is the club's understanding that the City of Shaker Heights has applied for grants to fund this project from the list below. All requests have been put on hold except for the Clean Ohio Trail Fund. We have been told that they will make a decision by October. Write to them and let them hear your thoughts about the recreational development of Horseshoe Lake:
