Needs Your Help!
In
September of 2005, the House of Representatives
passed Congressman Richard Pombo's (R-CA) "Wildlife
Ex- tinction" bill, which would gut the Endangered
Species Act. The fate of the Endangered Species Act
will ultimately be decided in the Senate. This bill
would require the govern- ment to compensate
property owners if measures to pro- tect species
thwart development plans. It would also give
political appointees the power to make some
scientific de- terminations and stop "critical
habitat" designations, which limit development. Help
us ensure that the Pombo “Wildlife Extinction” bill
does NOT become law. Send a message and encourage
your family and friends to send their comments to
your Senators now!
